No More Training Wheels
About 6 months ago, we asked Kody if he wanted to try to ride his bike without his training wheels, and of course, it was a big NO! But one Saturday he took off his training wheels himself, as you know him as a big TOOL guy! Joel helped him go down the driveway, but after that Kody just said, I can do it myself, we would ask if he wanted help over and over, and each time he would just say no, I can do it. Sure enough by the end of the day he was cursing all by himself.
Kody is such a clingy kid, so for him to ride his bike ALL by himself, was awesome! I just thought he would be to scared, but no he just took off and was completely content with us not helping him!
Kody LOVES Kindergarten, he does so good in school. He loves Mrs. Smith, the other day she told the class she was going to be gone on Friday and would be back on Monday, and sweet little Kody started to cry, Mrs. Smith said, "It melted her heart!" He does love his teacher and is excited everyday to go to school!
Kody's class had a Halloween party and I went and helped, Kody had fun and it was fun for me to go into the class for a little bit also.
*Kody is 5 1/2 and he LOVES school, he is learning how to sound words out to start to read, he does an amazing job, and can read tons of words. He is constantly rhyming words, or trying to think in his head what would rhyme. Mrs. Smith (his Kindergarten teacher) says he is an amazing kid and wishes every kid was just like him in her class, and teaching K would be a breeze.
*He is becoming more independent about certain things, he does not like to go in the front yard with out me or someone to go with him.
*He gets anxiety about things also, like his teacher leaving class, or an eye exam at school. But once he realizes what exactly happens with whatever he has the anxiety about, he is usually okay.
*Kody got a fake tattoo, and put it on his arm, he was so worried that he would get in trouble for wearing it at school, but I had to tell him over and over that he would be fine and that the tattoo would go away in a day or two.
*Lately Kody has been my VERY picky eater and does not want to eat anything and it is a fight with everything that he is eating. I am trying to get some snacks that are a little more healthy that he might like, without just eating junk all the time, but let me tell you, it is a pain to fight with him over everything that he eats, it is tiring!
*There is this song called, "The trouble with Girls" by Scott Mccreery. Kody thinks this song is cute, and it says, "The trouble with girls is they are so darn pretty" and so Kody had a little friend over the other day and he said, "uh oh you are trouble because you are so darn pretty!" It was by far the cutest/creative thing he has said lately!
