Santa Clara Flooding

So crazy that is has been 11 years since the twin towers were crashed into, but we also had major flooding in St. George that day. This is on the way to Kalven and Kody's school, the road was blocked off and this road wasn't even HALF as bad as the other road we went on. (This was on 400 w)

So this is another way to Kalven's school and this road was WAY WORSE than the first picture, the water was insane. (This was behind the sixth grade center)

TONS of water!

This was in Kayenta, everytime it rains a TON there is pretty waterfalls that come off the mountain, it is a little foggy but still pretty!

In Kayenta, this is a ton of water, I have never seen water in here before.

SANTA CLARA RIVER!!! It was so close to the top of the bridge.

This is a picture behind Snow Canyon High School, to the right in that field is the baseball fields. Lots of water, there is usally no water here.

So can you see where the dike broke? This is where all the middle school/high school kids can walk across to go to the gas station or a fast food place to get lunch.

Okay so to my left would be where the dike broke and it went down towards all these stores and thru santa clara.

This is dutchmans and I think it got it the worst, can you see everything tipped over in the door?

This building wasn't touched because I think of the little rock wall that was built around that building.

I'm not sure how much it took but it shows you Snow Canyon Middle School and this is where they would walk across.

You can see how high the water got and how much it took out, crazy!

So this was a BRICK wall, yes a brick wall the water was that powerful it took down the wall, so this is a house that Joel went and volunteered at that night for almost 4 hours, it was just crazy to see it when I went to pick him up. This is what Joel wrote on facebook: I was able to go and try to help a lot of people dig out and it was really amazing to see the damage in person! The first house I went to had a walkout basement and the water was up to their shoulders inside the basement and their whole backyard had about 6 feet of standing water they were trying to pump out before they could even get into the basement to start the cleanup.

Can you see how high the water got, its sad.

The other side of the house, this wall got taken out too, the dirt used to be grass. It so crazy how much water does so good yet it can do so much damage.
